I have a confession to make…
Over the summer, it dawned on me that what I value most in life are the relationships I’ve developed in my life and career, like the one I've developed with you. I have to admit though that I haven’t been very good at staying in touch since the end of the school year. I could blame it on being busy with my babies (not really babies but I still call them that), or putting a lot of my attention on successfully growing my business. Whatever the reason, not staying in touch wasn’t my intention and I regret it.
That being said, I’ve made the decision to treat nurturing the relationships that matter to me as my number one priority. So, expect to see me in your inbox once a week again! I’d love to hear about what you’ve been up to this summer. While I’m at it, here’s what’s new with me…
On a personal level:
I am practicing the steps learned from Becky Bailey's book “Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline: The 7 Basic Skills for Turning Conflict into Cooperation” to become a more assertive mom. It does not come naturally to me and it’s been a very interesting and enlightening journey.
My Bella is starting middle school this year and I am nervous about it. I didn’t go to middle school in the US so I have no idea what it’s like.
I have made the decision to stop dating for a year and spend the time on growing into the best version of myself.
In July, my babies and I went to visit some friends in the South of France, and it was a magical experience!
On a professional level:
We finally filmed the Destination LA episode on the Minimalist for CBS, and I can’t wait to share the airing date with you once I have that info.
There is a rebrand happening in the next few weeks that will finally allow me to greatly expand and truly reflect what I do for moms. Since my course was such a great success, I have decided to start a membership program where I will be teaching busy overwhelmed women how to declutter their lives both mentally and physically. The most exciting part: all they have to do is take a few small steps a day to make it more manageable and long lasting. I am so passionate about this because it will also allow me to do one of my favorite things in the world: create a community!
I realized that my newsletter before, as educational as it was, did not really show who I am as a person. I have decided to get more personal and vulnerable with you in the future ones. I want us to form a friendship. Let me know if you notice the change and dig it! :)
That’s all for today! I am looking forward to hearing about your summer. I’m only a comment away from becoming your new best friend so don’t be shy :)
COMING UP NEXT WEEK:
Once upon a time there lived a mom. She adored her husband and their two daughters. He was supportive and loving; their twins were the perfect representation of their love. She sat at the table after they all went to sleep one day and started crying. Why can't her kids and husband understand how debilitating it is for her to have so much clutter around?...
